Where we were in
the looted garrison,
my kayak was there,
where there is less water.

The panther poem by Rainer Maria Rilke- poem hunter
The Panther
His vision, from the constantly passing bars
. has grown so weary that it cannot hold
anything else. It seems to him there are
a thousand bars; and behind the bars, no world.
As he paces in cramped circles,
As he paces in cramped circles,
over and over. the movement of his powerful soft strides
is like a ritual dance around a centre
in which a mighty will stands paralysed.
only at times, the curtain of the pupils lifts,
quietly. An image enters in, rushes down
through the tensed, arrested muscles,
plunges into the heart and is gone.

The Tiger,English and poems ,poem by Peter Niblett
The Tiger,English and poems ,poem by Peter Niblett
The tiger behind the bars of his cage roars. Then he thinks.
It would be nice not to be behind bars all
The time Because they spoil
my view I wish I were wild,
not on show. But if I were wild,
hunters might shoot me.
But if I were wild,
food might poison me,
But if I were wild, water
might drown me.
Then he stops thinking
And... The tiger behind the bars of his cage growls.
It would be nice not to be behind bars all
The time Because they spoil
my view I wish I were wild,
not on show. But if I were wild,
hunters might shoot me.
But if I were wild,
food might poison me,
But if I were wild, water
might drown me.
Then he stops thinking
And... The tiger behind the bars of his cage growls.
The tiger behind the bars of his cage snarls,
The tiger behind the bars of his cage roars.

Fire and Ice by Robert Frost
Fire and ice
Some say the world will end in fire
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favour fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction
ice Is also great
And would suffice.
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favour fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction
ice Is also great
And would suffice.

Dust of Snow by Robert Frost
Dust of Snow [Poem]
The way a crow
Shook down on me
The dust of snow
From a hemlock tree
Has given my heart
A change of mood
And saved some part
of a day I had rued.
Shook down on me
The dust of snow
From a hemlock tree
Has given my heart
A change of mood
And saved some part
of a day I had rued.
The Tree [Poem]
The Tree [Poem ]
The trees inside are moving out into
the forest. the was empty
all these days where no
bird could sit no insect
hide no sun bury its feet in
shadow the forest that was empty all these nights will be full of trees by morning.
All night the roots work to disengage themselves from the cracks in
the veranda floor.
The leaves strain toward
the glass small twigs stiff with exertion long-cramped boughs shuffling under
the roof like newly discharged patients half-dazed,
moving to the clinic doors.
I sit inside, doors open to
the veranda writing long letters in which
I scarcely mention the departure of
the forest from the house.
The night is fresh,
the whole moon shines in a
sky still open the smell of
leaves and lichen still
reaches like a voice into the rooms.
My head is full of whispers
which tomorrow will be silent.
Listen. The glass is breaking.
The trees are stumbling forward into the night. Winds rush to meet them.
The moon is broken like a mirror.
its pieces flash now in
the crown of the tallest oak.

Animals [Poem]
Animals [Poem]
I think I could turn and live with animals.
they are so placid and self-contain d.
I stand and look at them long and long.
They do not sweat and whine about their condition.
They do not lie awake in
the dark and weep for their sins.
They do not make me sick discussing their duty to God,
Not one is dissatisfied. not one is demented with the mania of owning things Not one kneels to another,
nor to his kind that lived thousands of years ago,
Not one is respectable or unhappy over the whole earth.
So they show their relations to me and I accept them,
They bring me tokens of myself.
they evince them plainly in their possession
I wonder where they get those tokens.
Did I pass that way huge times ago and negligently drop them?
they are so placid and self-contain d.
I stand and look at them long and long.
They do not sweat and whine about their condition.
They do not lie awake in
the dark and weep for their sins.
They do not make me sick discussing their duty to God,

Amandan! [Poem]
Amanda! [Poem]
Don't bite your nails, Amanda!
Don't hunch your shoulders. Amanda!
Stop that slouching and sit up straight. Amanda!
(There is a languid, emerald sea.
where the sole inhabitant is me-
a mermaid, drifting blissfully.
Did you finish your homework. Amanda?
Did you tidy your room. Amanda?
I thought I told you to clean your shoes, Amanda!
(i am an orphan, reaming the street.
l pattern soft dust with my hushed.

the freedom is sweet.
Don't eat that chocolate, Amanda!

(I am Rapunzel, I have not a care;
life in a tower is tranquil and rare:
I'll certainly never let down my bright hair!)
Stop that sulking at once,
Amanda! You're always so moody, Amanda!

Anyone would think that I nagged at you, Amanda!

The Ball Poem [Poem]
The Ball Poem [Poem]
What is the boy now, who has lost his ball
What, what is he to do?
I saw it go Merrily bouncing,
down the street, and then
Merrily over there it is in the water!
No use to say 'O there are other balls':
An ultimate shaking grief fixes the boy
As he stands rigid, trembling,
staring down All his young days into
the harbour where His ball went.
I would not intrude on him;
A dime, another ball, is worthless.
Now He senses first responsibility
In a world of possessions. People
will take Balls, balls will be lost always,
little boy. And no one buys a ball back.
Money is external. He is learning,
well behind his desperate eyes,
The epistemology of loss,
how to stand up Knowing
what every man must
one day know And most know many days,
how to stand up.
मैं उस पर घुसपैठ नहीं करता;

How to Tell Wild Animals
How to Tell Wild Animals [Poem]
If ever you should go by chance To jungles in the east And if there should to you advance A large and tawny beast, If he roars at you as you're dyin' You'll know it is the Asian Lion...
Or if some time when roaming round, A noble wild beast greets you, With black stripes on a yellow ground, Just notice if he eats you This simple rule may help you learn The Bengal Tiger to discern.
If strolling forth, a beast you view, whose hide with spots is peppered, As soon as he has lept on you, You'll know it is the Leopard. 'Twill do no good to roar with pain He'll only lep and lep again.
If when you're walking round your yard You meet a creature there, who hugs you very, very hard, Be sure it is a Bear. If you have any doubts, I guess He'll give you just one more caress.
Though to distinguish beasts of prey A novice might nonplus, The Crocodile you always may Tell from the Hyena thus: Hyenas come with merry smiles But if they weep they're Crocodiles.
The true Chameleon is small, A lizard sort of thing: He hasn't any ears at all. And not a single wing. If there is nothing on the tree, Tis the chameleon you see.

Two Stories about Flying [Story]
Two Stories about Flying [Story]
His First Flight THE young seagull was alone on his ledge. His two brothers and his sister had already flown away the before. He had been afraid to fly with them Somehow when he had taken a little run forward to the brink of the ledge and to flap his wings he became afraid. The great expanse of sea stretched down beneath, and it was such a long way down miles down. He felt certain that his wings would never support him: so he bent his head and ran away back to the little hole under the ledge where he slept at night. Even when each of his brothers and his little sister, whose wings were far shorter than his own, ran to the brink, flapped their wings, and flew away, he failed to muster up courage to take that plunge which appeared to him so desperate. His father and mother had come around. calling to him shrilly, upbraiding him, threatening upbraid to let him starve on his ledge unless he flew away. scolding But for the life of him he could not move. That was twenty-four hours ago. Since then nobody had come near him. The day before, all day long, he had watched his parents flytng about with his brothers and sister, perfecting them in the art erly of flight, teaching them how to skim the waves and how to dive for fish. He had. in fact, seen his older Forsyth brother catch his first herring and devour it standing on a rock, while his parents circled around raising a proud cackle. And all the morning the whole family had walked about on the big plateau midway down the opposite cliff taunting him with his cowardice. The sun was now ascending the sky. blazing on his ledge that faced the south. He felt the heat helps because he had not eaten since the previous nightfall. He stepped slowly out to the brink of the ledge. and standing on one leg with the other leg hidden under his wing, he closed one eye, then the other.

The Tiger in the Zoo [Poem]
The Tiger in the Zoo [Poem]
He stalks in his vivid stripes
The few steps of his cage,
On pads of velvet quiet,
In his quiet rage.
He should be lurking in shadow.
Sliding through long grass Near the water hole Where plump deer pass.
He should be snarling around houses At the jungle's edge,
Baring his white fangs,
his claws Terrorising the village!
But he's locked in a concrete cell,
His strength behind bars.
Stalking the length of his cage, Ignoring visitors.
He hears the last voice at night, The patrolling cars And stares with his brilliant eyes At the brilliant stars.

Television Invention Story
Television Invention Story
The television is a modem invention (wfaatk) of science. It was invented by John Baired in 1925. He was a scientist it) of England. The invention oftelevision has shortened the time and distance for us The television is a means through which the news and events that take place in any corner of the world can be sent to any part of the world in a very short time. It is nothing but an improved (ene) state of a radio. The difference i that in a tolevision we can have both audio-visual systems while the radio has only the audio system Today we need not go to a distant place to see an event taking place. The television exhibits (oritr) us all the events and we can be aware of the world events simply by sitting in our room. We need not go to a cinema hall to witness (Bsretsl asrt) a movie. The television gives us knowledge (erR) and pleasure (encatw) in our own room. Now-a-days, we need not spare much time to learn about the happenings (PHI) of the world because of this modern scientific invention of the television. It is also useful to the students as some important (R*th) topics on science and other subjects are telecast through the television. It is worth mentioning that the Govt. of India has undertaken oefde) a new Education Policy sensA) for a moral uplift of the young generation (PER) of the country. In this education policy, it is proposed to impart education through the television where the teacher will only be an operator. It is hoped that the education spread widely through the television programmes will enable our new generation to face the competitive world of the 21st century Despite its good impacts, the television, if not used properly, may cause harm to our society. our youngsters must not
